HIBAPRESS – Agadir
The city of Agadir hosted a specialized training course for a number of security and judicial officials, within the framework of efforts to keep abreast of developments in the Code of Criminal Procedure and to enhance coordination between the various actors in the justice system.
The work of this meeting focused on the procedures related to search warrants, judicial supervision, as well as the mechanisms for activating alternative penalties, in light of the amendments brought by Law No. 23-03, in a manner consistent with the requirements of modernizing criminal justice. Participants in this course included heads of judicial police teams and officials of security circles, in addition to public prosecutors, in a step that reflects a trend towards unifying visions and exchanging experiences between the security and judicial apparatuses, in a way that serves the efficiency in dealing with cases. The course also witnessed wide remote participation via visual conferencing technology, where it was followed by a significant number of judicial police officers in various security zones, which reflects the importance of the topics presented and their connection to daily practice. The meeting was an opportunity to raise practical problems related to the implementation of the alternative penalties system, especially with regard to the activation of non-custodial measures, which are relied upon to alleviate the pressure on prison institutions and enhance a fairer and more effective approach to justice. This initiative falls within a continuous path to qualify human resources working in the field of law enforcement, and strengthen institutional coordination, in a way that enshrines the principles of justice and improves the quality of security and judicial performance.
