HIBAPRESS – Abdellatif Baraka
According to matching data, elements of the National Brigade of Judicial Investigations of the Royal Gendarmerie have initiated an in-depth investigation with a gendarme with the rank of "Adjudant," who holds the position of deputy commander of the territorial center, against the backdrop of suspicions of his connection to a network active in drug smuggling.
According to the same sources, the person in question was transferred to the administrative detention barracks in Dar As-Sikka in the city of Salé, in order to deepen the investigation with him and listen to his statements within the framework of the ongoing investigations, especially after his name appeared in data related to military elements active on the coastal strip. Despite the seriousness of the suspicions raised, the results of the initial investigations revealed that the person in question did not make any incriminating confessions, nor did the technical expertise carried out result in the existence of contacts connecting him to the suspects, which suggests the possibility of his prosecution while free or his release if the acts attributed to him are not proven. This case falls within the framework of the ongoing efforts made by the security and military services to combat illegal drug trafficking networks and strengthen monitoring and accountability mechanisms within the various agencies.
