On Tuesday, May 12th, the Saïdia community headquarters hosted a public session to open the envelopes related to the request for proposals for the delegated management of household waste and similar waste.
The session was attended by a specialized committee and representatives of competing companies, where the administrative and technical files of the candidates were reviewed in accordance with the applicable legal regulations. This process comes within the context of the municipal council's keenness to ensure the highest degrees of transparency and equal opportunities, to choose the most suitable partner capable of responding to the new specifications that put quality and innovation at the forefront of priorities.
In a statement to the "HIBAPRESS" website, Abdelkader Benmoumen, the president of the Saïdia community council, confirmed that this stage is pivotal in the process of qualifying the city. Benmoumen explained that the council is betting on a "new generation" of delegated management, which not only includes waste collection, but also extends to the modernization of mechanisms and the adoption of environmentally friendly methods.
The community president added, "Saïdia, as a national and international tourist hub, requires double efforts to maintain its cleanliness and beauty, especially during the peak summer periods. Our goal is to provide a service that meets the aspirations of the residents and visitors, and enhances the city's tourism competitiveness."
The renewal of the sanitation contract comes at a time when the city is preparing to receive hundreds of thousands of tourists, which puts the environment file at the top of the local authorities' agenda. It is expected that the company that will be selected will focus on providing advanced logistical solutions, increasing the pace of field work, in addition to integrating awareness aspects into its management strategy.
Opinions agree that the success of this experience will give a strong boost to other development projects that the region is witnessing, which consolidates Saïdia's position as one of the cleanest and most beautiful beach destinations in the Kingdom.
