A massive fire broke out this Wednesday, May 13th, inside a store used as a warehouse for party and wedding equipment, in the Messaouimi district of Hay Hassani in the city of Casablanca.
The flames are still raging as of this hour, while the civil defense elements are facing great difficulties in controlling the fire. According to initial data, the intervention process experienced complications related to the lack of water inside a number of fire trucks that arrived at the scene, as only two out of seven trucks were equipped with the necessary water for intervention, according to field sources. The situation also worsened due to the absence of some water supply points in the vicinity of the neighborhood, which limited the effectiveness of the extinguishing operations. The incident mobilized various security and local authorities in the region, while the causes of the fire are still unknown at the moment, pending the outcome of the investigations in progress.
