HIBAPRESS – Art
In a moving human scene that reflects the depth of the spirit of solidarity and loyalty within the Amazigh art scene, a number of art and culture figures visited a private clinic in Agadir on Wednesday evening, May 13, 2026, to check on the health of the poet and Amazigh artist Mohamed Bazekra, known artistically by the nickname "Benadaj", following a sudden health ailment that required urgent medical intervention.
This initiative witnessed the presence of prominent artistic figures, including the Amazigh artist and poet Fatima Chaho Tabamrant, along with actors Abdellatif Atif and Al-Hussein Bardawz, as well as the artist Hassan Al-Kamani and the artist Hisham Massin, where everyone expressed their support for the artist in this critical health phase, in an image that embodies his high position within artistic and cultural circles. In the same context, the artist and director Abdelaziz Ou Assayeh continues to closely follow the health situation of "Benadaj", confirming his permanent loyalty to the symbols of Amazigh creativity and his continuous keenness to support them humanely and artistically. Mohamed Bazekra, nicknamed "Benadaj", is one of the most prominent names that contributed to shaping the Amazigh artistic memory in the Greater Souss region. He hails from the village of Anzik, which belongs to the municipality of Taqi, led by Imouzzer Ida Outanane, where he worked for many years in peace away from the spotlight, but his presence remained strong through his poems that were sung by various Amazigh musical bands and groups. "Benadaj" was distinguished by a unique poetic style that combines depth of meaning and simplicity of expression, as he was able to give the Amazigh word a vibrant artistic dimension that reflects the concerns of the human being and the issues of society, and embodies the spirit of the land and identity. Thanks to this giving, he signed his name in the Amazigh cultural scene, and made his works an artistic legacy passed down through generations. This health ailment brings back to the forefront the need to pay more attention to the symbols of Amazigh art and culture, who have given a lot in the service of creativity and identity, without many of them receiving the care, support and recognition they deserve. Pending the improvement of his health, messages of prayer and solidarity continue from his fans and many artistic and cultural events, stressing that Mohamed Benadaj is not just a poet, but an artistic and human memory that deserves all appreciation.
