Paris Olympics.. The national team sweeps its American counterpart and qualifies for the semi-finals for the first time in its history
The Moroccan national team qualified for the semi-finals of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, for the first time in its history, after beating its American counterpart with four unanswered goals, in the match that brought them together today, Friday, at the Parc des Princes Stade de Paris, as part of the quarter-final matches.
Sofiane Rahimi opened the scoring for the national team in the 29th minute from a penalty, and Ilyas Akhoumash added the second goal in the 63rd minute, then Achraf Hakimi scored the third goal in the 70th minute, then Mehdi Mouhoub scored the fourth goal in the 90th minute from a penalty.
This is the first qualification in the history of Moroccan football, the Moroccan national team having never reached the Olympic semi-finals.
The match saw player Bilal Al-Khanous receive his second yellow card at the Olympics, which will rule him out of the semi-final match.
The national team will meet the winner of the Japan vs. Spain match in the semi-finals.
