The company said in a statement that (Laram) would reopen, from January 20, 2025, this direct air route, which the company had launched in 2020, before being suspended weeks later due to the health crisis, at a frequency of three flights per week.
The same source added that these flights will be organized from Casablanca on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 3:15 a.m. (local time) and will arrive at Beijing International Airport the next day at 10:50 a.m. (local time), noting that as for flights departing from Beijing, it will be scheduled on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 12:50 p.m. (local time) and will arrive in Casablanca at 8:15 p.m. (local time).
These flights will be operated on board a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner with a capacity of 302 seats, including 26 business class seats.
The report quotes Royal Air Maroc Chairman and CEO Hamid Adou as saying: “We are pleased today to reopen the first direct route between Morocco and China. The Casablanca-Beijing route is primarily aimed at promoting Moroccan tourism, with foreign tourists likely to make up 80 percent of air traffic on this route,” he added, adding that “this route will also help continue to strengthen economic and commercial relations between the two countries.”
