Tourism: Arrivals at border posts up 14%

The volume of tourist arrivals at border crossings reached about 7.44 million tourists in the first half of 2024, up 14% compared to the same period a year earlier, according to the Tourism Observatory.
Compared to the first half of 2023, all the main issuing markets, notably the United Kingdom (+34%), Germany (+28%), Italy (+21%), France (+17%) and Spain (+6%) have posted good performances, according to the Observatory’s statistics for June 2024.
Thus, the five main airports of the Kingdom, namely Agadir Al Massira, Marrakech Menara, Tangier Ibn Battouta, Fez Saiss and Mohammed V, respectively, welcomed 32%, 26%, 14%, 6% and 5% of the total tourist arrivals, continues the same source.
Furthermore, for the month of June 2024 alone, the volume of tourist arrivals at border posts reached around 1.5 million tourists, an increase of 10% compared to June 2023.
The main markets contributing to this performance during this month are the United Kingdom (+48%), France (+17%) and Spain (+1%).
As for the Kingdom’s airports, those of Agadir Al Massira, Marrakech Menara, Tangier Ibn Battouta, Fez Saiss and Mohammed V, respectively, received 37%, 31%, 18%, 8% and 1% of the total tourist arrivals, the Observatory specifies.
