This Thursday morning, August 8, the residents of the “Al-Faraghna” roundabout, in the Ghawazi community, under the influence of the Bamhamd village district in the province of Taounate, organized a protest march on foot towards the village of Bamhamd to demand an end to their isolation, by completing the surfacing of a section of road not exceeding 3 kilometers in length.
The march brought together men and women from the region. It was the result of the failure of the region’s leaders and their broken promises to pave a section of road, which had been the subject of previous promises by successive elected officials to lead the march. group.
The protesters chanted loud slogans to make their voices heard by officials, and in reference to a document presented to residents as proof of a request for tenders to complete the road section connecting regional road No. 501, and the Feraghna Ould Kassim roundabout via the Hawafiz roundabout and the road section connecting the Bab Arisha roundabout and the Kolda roundabout belonging to the community of the Ghawazi Taounate region.
The residents of the area, during their protest march, said that “the road is unusable and the reforms promised by the authorities to the residents have not been implemented, despite repeated calls from local residents,” and that the relevant authorities in the area are outside the area’s coverage.
The affected people called on those responsible for the management and operation of local affairs, the community leader and the worker of the Taounate region, known for his continuous services, to take into account their suffering and seriously reflect on their content, and to give orders to those supervising the repair and restoration operations in order to complete the work and prepare the road layout.
