Mohammed Chouki, president of the National Rally of Independents (RNI), affirmed that wage increases are at the core of the party's commitments for the upcoming phase, revealing an official direction within the RNI's program (2026-2031) to raise the minimum wage in the private sector (SMIG) to 5,000 dirhams, in response to economic challenges and to support the purchasing power of the working class.
The speaker stressed, during a party communication meeting today in the province of Sidi Kacem in the presence of Aziz Akhannouch and a number of RNI leaders, that this expected increase complements a package of targeted tax measures to maintain the balance of Moroccan family budgets, chief among them the approval of a tax deduction of up to 5,000 dirhams for each child enrolled in private education. Mohammed Chouki highlighted that the party chooses the language of precise and realistic commitments, pointing out that raising the "SMIG" and reforming the tax system for the benefit of families is not an electoral slogan, but rather a studied decision aimed at preserving the dignity of the citizen and empowering them to face living costs sustainably. He concluded by emphasizing that the RNI is committed to providing concrete field solutions that place income stimulation and the achievement of social justice at the forefront of its political and developmental agenda for the next five years.
