Civil protection elements recovered this Sunday morning, September 13, the body of a man in his fifties, after it surfaced in the waters of the "Moulouya canal" located in the territorial jurisdiction of the province of Berkane.
Local sources reported that the deceased, who hails from the Moulouya neighborhood, had disappeared since last Friday under mysterious circumstances, prompting his family and loved ones to search for him before the discovery of his body was reported.
The body of the deceased was transferred to the morgue of the Berkane Provincial Hospital for a medical autopsy, based on the instructions of the competent public prosecutor, in order to determine the exact causes of death.
In the same context, security authorities and the Royal Gendarmerie have opened a judicial investigation to uncover all the circumstances and details surrounding the incident.
