Bloomberg Network reported that senior officers aboard the U.S. aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln have been regularly briefing sailors and pilots on developments in the Middle East since the ship was ordered to the region in early August.

Bloomberg reported that the aircraft carrier’s crew did not learn of the Middle East deployment orders until after the ship left its main port of San Diego, California, last month.

The channel added that many of the ship’s crew members do not know the end date of the mission.

The United States has decided to send more warships and fighter jets to the Middle East, stressing that it will defend Israel against any attack.

In the same context, the US ambassador to Cyprus, Julie Fisher, said that the US amphibious assault ship “Wasp” was ready to provide assistance to civilians if fighting broke out in the Middle East.
