HIBAPRESS – Tangier
The investigating judge at the Court of Appeal in Tangier decided today, Thursday, to place the Mayor of Tangier, Mounir Lymouri, in pre-trial detention, in light of the ongoing investigations into the case of forged election papers.
The investigating judge's decision came after Lymouri was brought before the Public Prosecutor at the Court of Appeal in Tangier this morning, following the expiration of the additional period of police custody he underwent as part of the investigation into the file.
The security services had initiated their investigations into the circumstances surrounding the discovery of election papers around the Al-Quds school polling station, before the investigations expanded to include a number of individuals, including the Mayor of Tangier.
