HIBAPRESS – Rabat
The Left Alliance has announced the impossibility of holding the meeting that was scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, with Fatima Ezzahra Al-Mansouri, the appointed Prime Minister, within the framework of consultations related to government formation.
The alliance explained, in a statement issued today, Thursday, that Al-Mansouri had contacted the two Secretaries-General of the parties forming the alliance, Abdel Salam Al-Aziz and Jamal Al-Assari, to hold a meeting as part of the ongoing consultations with political parties.
The statement indicated that the alliance had initially expressed its approval to participate in the meeting, while emphasizing its choice of an opposition role within Parliament, and the resulting political, oversight, and advocacy responsibilities concerning the issues of citizens and the nation.
The alliance added that it had requested the meeting to be held in an independent venue, separate from the headquarters of political parties, to ensure, in its words, the institutional nature of the meeting between an appointed Prime Minister and the Secretaries-General of political parties.
According to the statement, the difficulty in agreeing on the venue for the meeting prevented its organization, especially given Al-Mansouri's consideration that the consultations were taking place in her capacity as coordinator of the collective leadership of the Authenticity and Modernity Party.
The Left Alliance reiterated that its choice of opposition, as stated in the release, does not merely represent a political positioning but rather a choice linked to its commitment to the issues of citizens and the supreme interest of the nation.
The alliance affirmed its continuation of political work and advocacy for what it described as "another possible Morocco," based on freedom, dignity, social justice, democracy, and effective equality, in line with the commitments it made to the voters.
