The city of Casablanca is preparing to host the third session of the “Phenomenon of Groups” festival in the Hay Mohammadi district. This distinguished cultural event, scheduled for August 20-24, 2024, will serve as a celebration of Moroccan musical diversity and a tribute to its pioneers.
This year, the festival is distinguished by a special tribute to the artist Omar Al-Sayed, one of the most prominent figures in the “group phenomenon” scene. The slogan “The group phenomenon is an identity and an artistic legacy that must endure.” was chosen to reflect the spirit and objectives of the festival.
Bashar Al-Khair Square and Park will witness five days of diverse activities, including live musical performances, intellectual seminars and meetings with leading artists. The organizers aim to create a bridge between generations, connecting young people with their rich musical heritage.
The festival highlights the impact of the “group phenomenon” on Moroccan culture, emphasizing its role in expressing societal issues and strengthening national identity. It also paves the way for interaction between different musical styles, including Amazigh music and rap art.
The festival is expected to attract a wide audience from various regions of Morocco, making it an important platform for cultural exchange and the revival of musical heritage. Thus, the “Phénomène Groupes” festival highlights the importance of preserving and developing Moroccan artistic heritage to ensure its continuity for future generations.
