Paris 2024 Olympics/Disappointments and failures: The end of the Jamaican sprint
HIBAPRESS-RABAT
The joy of the Olympic Games is mainly focused on the participation of the Jamaican sprinters who brilliantly liven up the Olympic tournament and give it a whole new dimension.
Today in Paris for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Jamaican sprinting has sunk, marking the end of a cycle for its golden generation of women.
The Jamaicans did not win any medals in the 100, 200 or 4x100m for the first time since 1976, with none of the three stars Elaine Thompson-Herah (withdrawn before the Olympics), Shericka Jackson (withdrawn before the 200m) or Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce (withdrawn before the semi-finals of the 100m), all injured, having been able to defend Jamaica’s chances in the final.
What a disappointment!
