A “courageous” confession from Yassine Bounou after the Al Hilal and Al Ahly match
Moroccan international Yassine Bounou, goalkeeper of Al Hilal Saudi Arabia, has admitted that Al-Ahly’s match in the semi-finals of the Saudi Super Cup was not easy at all, in a courageous confession from the Moroccan international who received praise from his coach, Jorge Jesus, for his performance in the penalty shootout.
Al-Hilal managed to reach the Saudi Super Final for the second consecutive season after beating Al-Ahly (4-1) on penalties after the semi-final ended in a draw (1-1).
Bono said in statements on the SCC Network after the match ended: “It was not an easy match. Al-Ahly is a great opponent and the level of the players was excellent. We had to make a big effort to get the result back.”
Bono continued by saying: “Al-Ahly played in a pressing manner, which made things difficult for us. Al-Ahly relied on quick rebounds. The first matches of the season are usually difficult.”
Yassine Bounou concluded his statement by saying: “The game and the physical effort were excellent at the start of the season, but the players who participated at different moments of the match helped us adjust the balance.”
