In Tetouan, the police surrounded the science campus to enforce a decision to ban student activities.

A major security deployment was observed near the science campus in Tetouan this Thursday morning, in order to implement the decision of Abdelmalek Essaâdi University to prohibit a student activity planned by the student branch of the Al Adl wal Ihsane movement on 20 , March 21, 22 and 23.

Earlier, the university presidency announced the suspension of classes due to a student activity planned for March 21, 22 and 23 under the slogan “The Al Aqsa Tsunami: The honor of the nation and its dignity, the title of his victory and his liberation”.

The university presidency said in a statement that it had received, the previous Monday, a notice from the student branch (Al Adl wal Ihsane) informing of its intention to organize a student activity on campus, “after examination From the poster of this activity, it appeared that it was a national conference, thus going beyond the framework of a student activity intended for students of the Abdelmalek Essaâdi University, and it also appeared that the organizing entity of this activity is not authorized”.

The presidency of the university added that in consideration of the interest of students in guaranteeing healthy academic and scientific conditions, and to avoid any tension that could arise from this conference within the student environment, after discussion of this development with the presidents of the university institutions concerned, it was decided not to authorize the holding of this conference, and to prohibit it in all institutions of the Abdelmalek Essaâdi University, by suspending courses and closing all the facilities of the institutions concerned on March 20, 21, 22 and 23, the days scheduled for the conference.
