Spanish “Huelva” welcomes first batch of minors expelled from occupied Ceuta

Three unaccompanied minor migrants from occupied Ceuta have arrived in Spain to be transferred to the Huelva region in a first group.

Local sources in occupied Ceuta reported that the second group, also consisting of a total of three unaccompanied minors, and as indicated in the plan, will be transferred to Almeria, in southern Spain.

The 2021 decision of the Supreme Court of Spain ruled that it was illegal to expel Moroccan immigrant minors from occupied Ceuta to Morocco, which implies their transfer to Spanish territory.

The court considered the expulsion of Moroccan minors in 2021 to be “illegal”, particularly in view of the absence of their guardians, stressing “not to undertake in the future the same measures which not only violate immigration laws; but also the Convention on Human Rights of the European Union.”
