Fez: A mentally unbalanced man attacks his neighbor and injures a security guard with a knife

The authorities of the security wilaya of Fez initiated, this Thursday (March 21) in the middle of the day, procedures to hospitalize a mentally unbalanced individual in the psychiatric hospital, after having threatened the security of citizens and injured a police officer with a knife on public roads.

According to initial information from the investigation, a police patrol guarding the city center of Fez managed to arrest a mentally unbalanced individual aged 25, carrying a kitchen knife, and lightly injured one police officers in the neck, after having already injured his 62-year-old neighbor in the arm earlier in the day.

An investigation was opened in this case under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, while the individual involved in these criminal acts was hospitalized in the psychiatric hospital due to his state of health.
