Bab Ceuta: Seizure of a large quantity of “molasses”

In the early hours of Thursday morning, customs and police officers at the Bab Ceuta site foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of the banned substance “molasses” in a light car.

A customs source explained that during a joint surveillance operation at the vehicle entry area, customs officers, in cooperation with the security services, were able to seize 404.9 kilograms of molasses, carefully hidden in all the cavities of the vehicle, as well as in the four tires of the car registered in Ceuta, Sliba, driven by a Moroccan resident in the occupied region.

A report was drawn up to prove the incident and the car and the goods were seized by the customs authorities, while the driver of the car was handed over to the judicial police to continue the investigation into this case, under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor.
