The parliamentary team of the “Progress and Socialism” Party in the House of Representatives addressed, through a written question, the problem of the interruption of certain drugs against certain diseases.
The team said in the same question that discontinuation of medications for chronic diseases was again at the forefront, and this time it was the drug “Levothyrox”, a drug for hypothyroidism.
The question stops at the suffering of thyroid patients, whether they suffer from hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism.
The issue has increased due to the interruption a few days ago of a vital drug in the pharmaceutical market, public hospitals and pharmacies, without knowing the reason or the dates of its delivery.
The written question pointed out that “the danger of not taking treatment, according to specialists, lies in the hypertrophy of the heart muscle, which can only return to its normal size after taking the treatment. Stopping this medication could also lead to the disappearance of the gland. slow or sluggish and not secreting it.” For the hormone, the levels of thyroxine in the body decrease.
He asked about the reasons for withdrawing a vital drug for thyroid patients from the pharmaceutical market, what steps the ministry will take to supply it, and what steps the ministry will take to ensure the regular supply of drugs to the national market, especially those used to treat chronic diseases, as is the case with the aforementioned drug.
