Operation “Hello 2024”… the transit of approximately 1.9 million passengers through Moroccan ports

The Ministry of Transport and Logistics indicated that Moroccan ports recorded the passage of around 1.9 million passengers and 447,000 cars in both directions, as part of the “Hello 2024” operation, between June 5 and August 15.

The ministry confirmed, in a statement on the follow-up of measures aimed at making the “Hello 2024” operation a success, that the transit process “is taking place in good conditions”, stressing that for incoming flows, Moroccan ports have received around 1.33 million passengers and 317,000 cars, while around 570,000 passengers have crossed and 130,000 cars heading to Europe from Moroccan ports.

The same source adds that the peak influx in Morocco was recorded on August 3 and 4, with more than 80,000 passengers and 20,000 cars, which testifies to an exceptional influx of Moroccans from around the world during these two days.

The communication notes that the interests of the Ministry of Transport and Logistics “are working to ensure all the technical and logistical conditions necessary to make this process a success”, by mobilizing sufficient transport capacities to meet the needs of Moroccans residing abroad, in addition to diversifying maritime lines, while ensuring the quality of the services provided on board the ships, as well as monitoring travel prices.

Regarding the return phase, and in order to ensure a smooth and safe transit of passengers in all Moroccan ports, the Ministry of Transport and Logistics recommends that all travelers wishing to return to their country of residence pre-book their travel ticket and confirm the date and travel time for all maritime lines, including the two maritime lines “Tanger Med” – Algeciras “and” Tangier Medina – Tarifa “.

She added that if you want to change the date or time of travel indicated on the ticket, those concerned must communicate remotely with the company concerned, before arriving at the port, in order to avoid any possible congestion at the port.
