Mbappe’s replacement… Paris Saint-Germain officially recruits new talent (video)
French club Paris Saint-Germain announced today Saturday that it has signed talented winger Désirée Doué (19 years old), from Stade Rennais, for a contract extending over 5 seasons, until June 30, 2029.
Saint-Germain did not disclose the financial value of the deal, but global website Transfer Market reported that the Parisian club had paid €50 million to buy out the young French star’s contract.
Dowie has great technical qualities, which prompted Saint-Germain to sign him for this amount, in order to compensate for the departure of French star Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid this summer.

Dowie contributed 10 goals (scoring 4, assisting 6) in the 43 matches he played for Rennes last season 2023-24, before participating with the France U-23 team at the Summer Olympics in “Paris 2024”. He was able to perform at exceptional levels, contributing two goals (scoring one goal and providing one assist).
Dowie became the fourth player to join Saint-Germain this summer, following Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov, Ecuador defender Willian Pacho and Portugal midfielder Joao Neves.
It is worth noting that the Parisian team began its journey in the new 2024-25 football season, by winning (4-1) over its host Le Havre, during the match between the two teams yesterday, Friday, in the first round of the French First Division competitions.
In the new season, Saint-Germain are looking to maintain the local treble (League, Cup, Super Cup), while seriously competing for the Champions League and Club World Cup titles.
