The random nature of the president of the Royal Moroccan Judo Federation and his inability to achieve positive results are being questioned by sports affairs officials.

Despite the opportunities and favorable conditions available to the Royal Moroccan Judo Federation, this discipline continues to suffer from a significant decline in performance at the international level. Despite the existence of appropriate infrastructure and equipment, the results obtained by Moroccan athletes in foreign competitions, and more recently at the Olympic Games, remain below expectations, which raises questions about the management of the FRMJ and the effectiveness of its strategies to achieve success.
For years, the National Judo Team has suffered from a significant decline in its performance in international competitions, although it has the necessary conditions to develop players and produce world champions, but the results are disappointing.
For example, at the Olympic Games, the pinnacle of global sporting competitions, Moroccan athletes were unable to perform worthy of the country’s sporting reputation, widening the gap between expectations and reality and highlighting the need to re-evaluate the methods used by the Royal Moroccan Judo Federation.
It seems that one of the most important challenges facing Moroccan sport is the tendency of some Moroccan champions to emigrate, secretly or openly, abroad in search of a more favorable and developed environment. This reflects the extent of the frustration felt by athletes due to the lack of support and opportunities in their home countries.
It is important to remember that sport is not only an investment in individuals but in the entire country, and when champions tend to emigrate abroad, this represents a great loss for the national sport and negatively affects the ability to compete at a global level.
The list we received of Moroccan champions who preferred to “move” to Europe and settled in Belgium and France confirms what we have just explained.
The management of the FRMJ continues under the leadership of its current president, Kettani, who may seek to run for a new term despite the notable failure that accompanied him, so that the maintenance of the same person in the same position for many years without achieving positive results reflects a lack of change necessary to improve sports performance, as long-term leadership that lacks innovation and renewal contributes to discouraging efforts and limiting ambitions, so that the sports scene has become a need to renew leadership and change strategies according to new challenges and new opportunities.
In addition to management issues, practicing athletes suffer from neglect and insufficient support, which negatively affects their development and the achievement of desired results, due to poor care and inadequate training, which leads to decreased performance and missed opportunities to achieve success.
In summary, to improve the situation, more attention must be paid to athletes, providing them with excellent training programs, psychological and financial support, and re-evaluating current policies to ensure positive results.
