Agadir security monitors motorcycles
This summer, Agadir security services launched a massive surveillance campaign against motorcycle owners.
This campaign, which was not limited to the city of Agadir alone, but also affected neighboring cities such as Inezgane, Boukry Ait Melloul and Ouled Taima, resulted in the registration of fines against motorcycle users, and the seizure of dozens of them whose owners did not have legal documents, not to mention the seizure of stolen bikes.
Road safety personnel have deployed judicial barriers on a number of streets to monitor motorcycles, and security interventions by the motorcycle constellation have also been stepped up.
Motorcycle owners who work in goods delivery companies have not been spared from surveillance: several of them have been stopped to check whether they have the documents relating to the motorcycles they use.
This campaign aims to seize motorcycles whose owners do not have their papers, in addition to accessing stolen bikes.
This measure would reduce the phenomenon of theft and pickpocketing using motorcycles, as many deviants resort to previously stolen bikes for theft operations.
