Royal Army beaten by Nigerian hosts Remo Stars in African Champions League
The Royal Army team was beaten by their Nigerian hosts, Remo Stars, by two goals to one, in the match that brought them together today Sunday, at the ground of the stadium (Remo Stars) in the Nigerian city of Iken, in the first leg of the first preliminary round of the African Champions League.
Remo Stars team were the first to score through their player, Nduka Junior in the 19th minute and equalized for Royal Army team, Joel Biya in the 50th minute before Ismaila Sodic came back to score the winner for the Nigerian team in the 68th minute.
Royal Army will host Remo Stars in the return leg next weekend.
In the same role, yesterday Saturday, the Raja Athletic team returned with a precious victory from the stadium of its host, the National Guard of Niger, by two goals to one.
The Royal Army team, if it qualifies for the second preliminary round, will face the qualifier of the Sudanese match Al-Merreikh and the champion of the Libyan League.
The first leg matches of the second preliminary league will take place between September 13 and 15 and the return matches between September 20 and 22.
