A new report by the Energy Research Unit has revealed a list of African countries with the largest coal-fired electricity generation capacity by 2024.
Recent data reviewed by the Washington-based Energy Research Unit revealed a list of African countries with the largest coal-fired electricity generation capacity.
The following list presents the African countries with the largest coal-fired electricity generation capacity, according to the Energy Research Unit report, for the year 2024:
1. South Africa with capacity (44.22 GW)
2. Morocco with a capacity (4.09 GW)
3. Zimbabwe with capacity (1.67 GW)
4. Botswana with a capacity of (0.732 GW)
5. Zambia with a capacity of (0.33 GW)
6. Nigeria with capacity (0.285 GW)
7. Mauritius with capacity (0.195 GW)
8. Senegal, with a capacity of (0.155 GW)
9. Madagascar with a capacity of (0.12 GW)
10. Namibia with a capacity of (0.12 GW)
