CAVB Congress: Ms. Bouchra Hajij calls for unity and innovation for the future of African Volleyball

On the occasion of the Elective Congress of the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) in Marrakech, Mrs. Bouchra Hajij, President of the CAVB, delivered an inspiring speech that highlighted the achievements of the confederation while outlining an ambitious roadmap for the future of volleyball in Africa.
Ms. Bouchra greeted delegates and guests, welcoming them to what she described as their “second home” in Morocco. Her speech began with a moving tribute to the fallen members of the African volleyball community, followed by a minute of silence in their memory.
In her assessment of the last four years, the CAVB President expressed her satisfaction to see African volleyball progress thanks to a shared vision and collective synergy. She highlighted the importance of continental competitions, such as the African Club Championships and the Nations Championships, as well as the success of the first U17 Nations Championships, hosted by Nigeria and Libya.
Ms. Bouchra also highlighted the growth of African beach volleyball, congratulating host countries including Burundi and Egypt for their commitment to major Beach Pro Tour events. She highlighted Africa’s growing participation in the Beach Volleyball World Championships.
Innovation was a central theme of her speech, with a focus on development initiatives including the training of international referee candidates and the integration of modern technologies to improve competition management. Ms Bouchra reaffirmed CAVB’s commitment to supporting national federations with equipment and technical support.
In conclusion, Ms. Bouchra called for unity, commitment, and perseverance to make African volleyball a global force. She thanked the FIVB for its support and urged delegates to work together to reach new heights in the sport.
