French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin announced today Tuesday that around 25,000 police officers will be deployed daily in the capital, Paris, and other cities for the Paralympic Games, in line with the security deployment implemented during the Summer Olympics.

The Paralympic Games will be held from August 28 to September 8 in Paris and cities near the capital.

Darmanin said at a news conference on Tuesday that authorities had not received any terrorist threats linked to the Paralympics.

The French Interior Minister said the 27-person Israeli delegation will be protected 24 hours a day by elite police officers, as happened during the Olympic Games amid an escalating crisis over the ongoing war in Gaza and threats of the conflict spreading to the Middle East.

4,400 athletes compete in the Paralympic Games at 19 venues, compared to 10,500 athletes in the Olympic Games at 41 venues.
