Two new players threaten Sofiane Amrabat’s position in the Moroccan national team

Sofiane Amrabat is considered one of the pillars of the Moroccan national team in recent years, and has even become one of the stars that are difficult to give up, especially after his great brilliance in the Qatar 2022 World Cup final, as he contributed to the Moroccan team. The national team achieves a historic feat by occupying fourth place.

Amrabat’s level with the Moroccan national team has declined in recent matches, at a time when young players are emerging and performing at their best, which threatens the status of Sofiane, who was loaned to Manchester United last season.

Amir Richardson, recently transferred to Italian club Fiorentina, has made a good impression on the Moroccan Olympic team at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.

Richardson has become one of the names tipped to be officially named in the first team, as he still has the confidence of technical director Walid Regragui to be with the group, given the technical abilities that the young player boasts.

The former Stade de Reims star is among the most high-profile players named to replace Amrabat in the Moroccan national team, and even threatens his position at Fiorentina.

Regragui also considers young player Oussama Al-Azouzi, who plays in a defensive midfield position at Italian side Bologna, as one of the names likely to succeed with the Moroccan senior national team in the future.

Al-Azouzi has attended many matches of the Moroccan national team and his rapid development in recent times makes him an expected successor to replace Sofiane Amrabat.

Sofiane Amrabat, the star of the Moroccan national team and the Italian club Fiorentina, must maintain his form and level during the new 2024-2025 football season, in order to reserve a place for himself in the battalion of the “Atlas Lions”.

It is worth noting that Oussama Al-Azouzi and Amir Richardson participated with the Moroccan Olympic team in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
