Argument Between Couple Ends In Disaster (Photos)

Today, Tuesday, in the western Turkish city of Izmir, a forty-year-old husband shot dead his four daughters and then himself in a gruesome and bloody revenge against his wife who had filed for divorce.

Three of the girls were killed instantly, while the fourth and the father were injured and taken to hospital in a shock that went beyond the family and the region.

Local media reported that one of the victims, a two-year-old girl named “Celine,” was killed with a “pacifier” for infants and toddlers in her mouth.

The two girls, “Jimri”, 4, and “Nira”, 14, were killed in the shooting, while “Hira Nour”, 11, is being treated in hospital, but the severity of her injury is not yet clear.

The 45-year-old father, named “Vesem Simsek”, is also being treated in hospital after his failed suicide attempt using the same weapon with which he shot his four daughters.

The father, who works in construction, took his four daughters to farmland before committing his crime.

Local media quoted family members as saying the husband had been depressed recently after his wife filed for divorce about two months ago, and he told her in their last communication: “You’re going to hear something great.”
