Darwa residents demand that management of the city be transferred from the Royal Gendarmerie to the National Security
Heba Press – Casablanca
Crime rates have increased recently in the city of Darwa, not far from Mohammed V airport, despite the great efforts made by members of the Royal Gendarmerie in the area in the face of the expansion of the city, such that it is no longer possible for the gendarmes, limited in number and capacity, to continue to manage the city.
In this regard, Heba Press has received dozens of complaints demanding that Al-Darwa be transformed into a security zone or annexed to the city of Berrechid, and that its influence be transformed from an area belonging to the Royal Gendarmerie to a zone of national security influence.
Earlier this year, there were reports linking the emptying and repair of an administrative building located in Darwa as a prelude to the entry of National Security and that it would become the headquarters of the security personnel, but none of this has happened so far.
