Turkish police arrest Justice and Charity group leader in Istanbul

Turkish police arrested Dr. Muhammad Rafii, a leading member of the Moroccan Justice and Charity Group, in the city of Istanbul after a tourist visit, the group’s website reported.

The group’s official website questions “the context of this behavior which targeted a well-known personality in the Islamic world, and we regret such action against an esteemed and respected man who was with his wife and children.”

The group’s official website expressed surprise at “the repetition of such irresponsible behavior by a number of the group’s executives, in violation of all laws, customs and principles of the Islamic brotherhood.”

Dr. Muhammad Rafii, Professor of Principles of Jurisprudence and Objectives at the University of Fez – Morocco, member of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, and member of the Scientific Committee of the Community of Justice and Charity.
