Benmoussa signs partnership agreements with civil society organizations to manage second chance centers

On Friday, August 30, at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Education, Primary Education and Sports, Chakib Benmoussa, Minister of National Education, Primary Education and Sports, chaired a signing ceremony for partnership agreements with civil society associations to manage second chance centers.

These agreements are part of the Ministry’s efforts to combat school dropout and school dropout, as this is one of the strategic objectives of the 2022-2026 roadmap, with the area of ​​remedial education and inclusive school being among the priorities to which the Ministry pays particular attention in the education system reform programs, based on preventive approaches to reduce school waste, on the one hand, and corrective approaches to improve the monitoring of basic learning, on the other hand, while seeking to offer a second opportunity for education and training, particularly for groups of children in special situations.

In this regard, the Minister stressed that the adoption of this partnership with civil society associations is a strategic option that the Ministry has adopted since the implementation of the school catch-up programs, given the essential role played by the associations active in this field, represented by the ability to attract and communicate with groups of children and adolescents who are not eligible, proximity to them and their parents, adaptation and flexibility to their situations, and the ability to mobilize support and keep pace in order to facilitate the conditions for the success of the program.

These agreements, signed between the regional academies of education and training and the relevant civil society associations under the supervision of the Ministry, aim to implement Second Chance Schools projects – the New Generation in different regional academies, with the aim of socio-professional integration for the benefit of adolescents and young people who have dropped out of school, while ensuring the provision of programs combining educational, professional training and development activities.

A partnership agreement was also signed between the Ministry and the network of associations of second chance schools in Morocco, with the aim of strengthening partnership and networking, increasing the capacities of literary associations of second chance schools of the new generation and strengthening their governance, with the aim of raising the quality of training, through the sharing of experiences and advocacy for the right to catch-up schooling and second chance schools for education, training and socio-professional integration for the benefit of adolescents and young people, while ensuring the influence of the Moroccan experience in training. this field.

This ceremony took place in the presence of the Secretary General of the Ministry, the Director responsible for remedial education and inclusive education at the Ministry, the directors of the regional education and training academies, and ladies and gentlemen, representatives of the relevant Second Chance associations. School associations.
