Rabat: The Police Prefecture denies the seizure by its services in a natural park of a firearm carried by an individual

The Rabat Police Prefecture has categorically denied the allegations falsely circulated on social media and instant messaging platforms, according to which the city’s police services seized a Kalashnikov-type firearm carried by an individual in a natural park.

In a clarification to enlighten public opinion and refute these comments that undermine the feeling of security, the Rabat Police Prefecture affirms that the Judicial Police of the Agdal-Hassan district opened, Thursday morning, a judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecutor’s Office after the arrest of a minor aged 17 in possession of a plastic object that resembles a “Kalashnikov” type rifle.

According to the same source, the investigations carried out have shown that this plastic object resembling a rifle was purchased via a website dedicated to e-commerce.

The Rabat Police Prefecture, while ensuring to establish the truth on this subject, again denies that it is a real firearm, concludes the clarification.
