Moroccan Mohammed Al-Rifi commented on the statements of Lebanese Carole Samaha at the Mawazine Festival, who said that she did not prefer the style of singing presented by Al-Rifi.
Muhammad Al-Rifi said in a television interview that he had not seen Samaha’s statement, but he admired it. “All respect and pride to her, because she is an excellent teacher.” He learned this from his time on the talent competition show “The X Factor.”
He added: “If the artist really doesn’t like my voice, there are millions who like the color I interpret.”
Al-Rifi revealed for the first time the reason for his sudden retirement and recent demise, saying:“I went through a very difficult time and underwent surgery, after which I had to move between Morocco and Spain for 3 years, until I fell into depression due to the severity of the illness.” He added “Due to the condition that happened to me during this period, I published my retirement decision on Facebook and decided to terminate my contracts and retire from art.”
Al-Rifi stressed that one of his wishes was to sing with Sherine Abdel Wahab, on a stage, and he was able to achieve this.
