A special message from Fiorentina fans to Moroccan Sofiane Amrabat
Fiorentina’s Italian fans have sent special messages of thanks to Moroccan star Sofiane Amrabat, who left the purple club this summer to join Turkish club Fenerbahce on loan with a final purchase mandatory.
Amrabat has completed his move to Fenerbahce. He will join fellow Moroccan Youssef En-Nesyri and both will play under the guidance of renowned Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho.
Despite Amrabat’s concern to determine his destination on the transfer market, the Moroccan international was keen to play matches with Fiorentina, and the day before yesterday, Thursday, he played a match lasting 120 minutes, against the Hungarian Academy Puskas, as part of the qualifications for the “championship phase” of the European Conference League championship.
Fiorentina coach Raffaele Palladino praised the professionalism of Amrabat, who played against Puskas Accademia for 120 minutes, making an influential contribution to the Italian club’s qualification, before finalising the procedures for his transfer to Fenerbahce the following day.
Expressions of praise were not limited to what Palladino was doing; Fiorentina fans competed to show their gratitude towards Amrabat, describing him as a “great professional” and a “real man”.
Some fans compared what Amrabat did to other players faking injuries, in order to miss training and matches, before joining other clubs.
It is worth noting that Sofiane Amrabat joined Fiorentina in 2020, having come from Italian side Hellas Verona at the time. Statistically, the “Lion of Atlas” has played 111 matches in the “Viola” jersey, scoring two goals (scoring one goal and providing one assist), based on data from the global website “Transfer Market”.
