A summer camp in Mohammedia for children affected by the Al Haouz earthquake
A group of children from the territorial community of Amizmiz, in the province of Al Haouz, affected by the earthquake of September 8, benefited from a holiday camp in Mohammedia during the period from August 21 to 30.
In its fifth phase, the camp, organized by the Association for the Development of Childhood and Youth, in cooperation with the Amizmiz Kabir Foundation for Training, Studies and Development, the Association for Psychological and Educational Support of Casablanca and the Association of Moroccans in France, under the slogan “The camp is a space for creativity and brilliance”, targeted around 48 boys and girls.
The camp, which took place at the National Aliya Camping Center, aims to take these children out of the atmosphere of isolation, provide them with psychological and educational support, in addition to offering them the opportunity to meet new children and exchange knowledge (seismic experience).
The children benefited from various activities in a set of settings, including beach and swimming games, an Olympic day and workshops related to educational laboratories, road safety, civil prevention, water conservation and waste utilization, among other activities.
This camp comes, according to the organizers, after the success of the Convoy of Hope for educational and psychological support, organized by the Amizmiz Foundation for Training, Studies and Development, in partnership with the Association of Psychological and Educational Support of Casablanca and the Association of Moroccans in France, during the third inter-holiday (April 2024).
They added that the camp is also part of the Amizmiz Kabir Foundation for Training, Studies and Development which continues its support programs for children and young people who are still suffering from the negative effects of the Al Haouz earthquake, to get them out of isolation and daily routine.
