Administrative bureaucracy is holding back investments by Moroccans from all over the world in Morocco: Nador is one example

A number of Moroccan investors residing abroad have expressed their dissatisfaction with the administrative obstacles that prevent the realization of their projects in Morocco, which has pushed some of them to withdraw their investments, causing serious financial losses for the national economy.
Despite official calls to encourage investment from the Moroccan community, bureaucratic complications and undue interference from some local authorities continue to hamper the progress of these projects. The Beni Ansar community in Nador province witnessed these obstacles, as Moroccan investors abandoned their projects due to administrative harassment.
In Nador, a businessman who planned to create a “nautical city” encountered daily administrative obstacles, despite his legal authorizations, which led him to withdraw from the project after losses exceeding 200 thousand dirhams.
For its part, civil society in Nador called for the opening of an investigation into these practices which hinder economic development and thwart attempts by investors from the Moroccan community to contribute to the development of their country.
