Drug trafficking leads to father and son arrest in Meknes

The judicial police officers of the wilaya of Meknes, on the basis of precise information provided by the services of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance, were able, yesterday, Monday September 2, at noon, to arrest a person and his father, suspected of links with a criminal network active in the promotion of drugs and psychotropic substances.

The two suspects were arrested at the entrance to the city of Meknes, immediately after their arrival in a car from one of the cities in the north of the Kingdom. The search operation resulted in the discovery in their possession of 1,490 narcotic tablets, including 1,190 hallucinogenic tablets of the “ecstasy” type and 300 narcotic medical tablets of the “Rivotril” type.

The two suspects were subjected to a judicial investigation, conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, in order to determine the remaining possible extensions of this criminal activity, as well as to arrest the other participants and contributors to the commission of these criminal acts.
