To protest against the “forces of order”… the “taxi” drivers of Berkane begin an open strike

A number of taxi drivers of both types in Berkane province intend to stage an open strike tomorrow, Wednesday, to protest against a female journalist.

Taxi drivers are protesting a letter sent by the regional security officer stating that any taxi whose contractual classification has expired will be stopped within the 12-year period.

The “taxi” drivers, according to several observers, decided to take this protest measure to twist the arms of the authorities and force them not to apply the law and to continue working according to the “law of the jungle” and to seize by force the permits of their owners.

Investigators confirmed that a number of permit holders died before obtaining their rights, stressing that the operators of these permits deliberately took possession of them and resold them, in exchange for meager sums paid to their owners.
