Parliamentarian Mehmet Özen called on the Minister of Economy and Finance to activate the Solidarity Fund against Catastrophic Incidents.
Ouzin indicated in a written question addressed to the minister: “The storms and torrential floods that occurred in several areas of the Draa-Tafilalet region, the Eastern region, the Beni Mellal-Khenifra region and the Fez-Boulmane region caused significant material damage and losses and some deaths among citizens, in addition to several hectares of cultivated land damaged and destroyed.” Some irrigation works, as happened recently in the Pullman region, for example.
These disasters, the parliamentarian added, call into question the government on several levels, particularly with regard to the compensation of residents, farmers and breeders following the losses suffered, and we highlight here the activation of Law No. 110.14 concerning the establishment of the system of consequences of catastrophic events published on August 25, 2016, and through it, the activation of the Solidarity Fund against catastrophic events, particularly for the victims of these events who do not have insurance coverage.
