Rabat: Presentation and review of the government plan for equality 2023-2026

The government plan for equality 2023-2026 “Morocco of leadership, prosperity and values” was presented and examined during the second meeting of the national commission for gender equality and the empowerment of women , held Monday in Rabat under the presidency of the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch.

Speaking at this meeting, Mr. Akhannouch recalled the conclusions of the first meeting of the commission, which was an opportunity to adopt the strategic framework of the government plan for equality 2023-2026, emphasizing The importance of the government plan to enable women to enjoy their full rights and to strengthen gender equality, indicates a press release from the Head of Government's department.

On this occasion, the Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration and Family, Aawatif Hayar, presented the broad outlines of the government plan for equality 2023-2026, which is structured around three strategic axes: empowerment and leadership, protection and prosperity and rights and values, in addition to the governance and steering system of the plan, adds the same source, specifying that this government plan, spread over 4 years, includes 288 measures.

The development of the government plan for equality 2023-2026, which took place within the framework of a participatory methodology, was marked by the holding of 5 consultation meetings with ministerial departments and national institutions, as well as through 5 consultation meetings with associations of local authorities, civil society and the private sector, underlines the press release, indicating that after discussion of the different components of the plan, the Head of Government called on the parties concerned to finalize the development of the governance system and the related financing plan, with a view to presenting this plan to the Government Council for adoption.

This meeting of the national commission for gender equality and the empowerment of women was marked by the participation of members of the government, representatives of national institutions, presidents of associations of regional councils, councils of prefectures and Provinces, municipal councils, as well as the representative of the Confédération Générale des Entreprises du Maroc and representatives of civil society associations members of the committee.
