Morocco adopts “phone to phone” payment without the need for a POS device or a bank card
Heba Press – Casablanca
Morocco continues to modernize its financial arsenal by adopting advanced and intelligent mechanisms linked to payment and performance by adopting phone-to-phone payment technology without the need for a POS device.
In this regard, the electronic payment functionality via the “Soft Pos” application through the “Tap To Mobile” service has come into force in Morocco, which allows merchants to accept payments directly via their smartphone, without the need for traditional means of payment.
Cash Center revealed that this new service, launched in partnership with Visa, will allow its users to transform their smartphones or tablets running on Android systems and equipped with near-field communication (NFC) technologies into points of sale without the need for additional equipment or infrastructure.
With “Tap To Mobile”, holders of local and international bank cards or e-wallets can finalize their payment by simply bringing their smart devices (watches, phones, smart boards) close to the merchant’s phone equipped with the secure Soft Pos payment application, available exclusively at the checkout.
