Asni authorities arrest activist defending Al Haouz earthquake victims

The Moroccan Association for Human Rights in Marrakech announced the arrest of activist Saeed Ait Mehdi, originally from the Tadafalt region of the Ighil community, by the Asni gendarmes, while he was heading to the center to file a complaint against an agent of the authority.

The association confirmed that Ait Mehdi had been placed under theoretical custody before his transfer from the Asni gendarmerie company to the town of Tahanaout.

The Moroccan Association for Human Rights, Marrakech-Manara branch, stressed that Aït El Mahdi “is known for his defense of the victims of the earthquake and their just and legitimate demands.”
