Giving the official launch of the City of Trades and Skills of the Northern Region

The official launch of the City of Trades and Skills of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region took place today, Friday, in Tangier, marking the official launch of the training season in establishments affiliated with the city.
The City of Trades and Skills, which was launched in the presence of the Director General of the National Office for Vocational Training and Work Promotion, Lubna Atreisha and the President of the Council of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima Region, Omar Moro, in the presence of many economic partners and local officials, will welcome the first class of trainees during the 2024-2025 training season.
Ms. Lubna Atricha indicated, in a statement on this occasion, that “the launch of the City of Trades and Skills in Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima was given simultaneously with the launch of the City of Trades and Skills in Beni Mellal, thus raising the number of open cities in Morocco to six”, knowing that the cities of trades and skills now cover half of the open cities in Morocco, which welcome 19,650 young trainees in various specialties.
She added: “These innovative facilities dedicated to skills development, which were carried out in application of the Royal Instructions and in accordance with the new roadmap for the development of vocational training, in order to establish a new generation of training institutions that combine the best conditions to stimulate and transfer the training of young people to a higher level, enable them to have a distinguished training and prepare them to be active in economic dynamism, at the regional and national level.
Ms. Atrisha considered that the issue is related to the provision of training offer oriented towards new professions and adapted to territorial and national economic systems, the provision of updated training programs, the adoption of innovative learning programs and pedagogies and the mobilization of training and training equipment of the modern generation.
For his part, the president of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, Omar Moreau, stressed the importance of this project to support the development dynamism demonstrated by the region, as the second economic pole of the Kingdom, recalling that the regional council contributed a financial envelope worth 100 million dirhams for the completion of this city.
The City of Trades and Skills Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima was built on a 12-hectare area. This new generation establishment offers a total annual capacity of 3,300 teaching places, including 1,800 trainees in the first year of training.
The City of Trades and Skills Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, designed according to a collective intelligence approach, offers a diversified training offer compatible with the development horizons of the region, since this training offer covers 86 sections in basic training, 71% of which are new.
This new institution also includes 09 professional centers which include 06 integrated application platforms equipped with the necessary equipment to allow young trainees to train in conditions similar to the reality of entrepreneurship.
These are the industry hub, with an educational factory dedicated to automotive professions, which functions as a production unit through a structure that simulates real industry conditions within the company, which offers trainees the opportunity to carry out multidisciplinary projects, the management and professions hub, with a virtual simulation company to give trainees the opportunity to train for the professions of the future, and the digital management and artificial intelligence hub with a digital factory, which allows trainees to embody their ideas in the field, improve their skills and participate effectively in digital transformation projects.
In addition, the city includes a tourist and hotel center with an educational hotel-restaurant to prepare trainees for the different professions linked to the sector, an agricultural center with an educational farm to allow trainees to learn more about the different techniques of the profession, a health center including an educational care unit, a marine fishing rod and an arts and industry center magnate of printing and agri-food.
In order to ensure adequate living and training conditions for trainees, the City of Trades and Skills Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima houses numerous living spaces, including a trainee hostel with a capacity of up to 450 beds.
In line with the aspirations of new generations of young trainees, the City of Trades and Skills Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima combines learning trades and developing soft skills and behavioral skills through innovative joint structures, as it includes innovation chains that include a shared workspace, a development laboratory, a digital factory and an incubator that helps create… An environment that promotes the development and creativity of young people. It also provides trainees with a language and personal skills center dedicated to developing behavioral, linguistic, entrepreneurial and digital skills.
In order to allow trainees to have continuous access to a variety of physical and digital educational references, the city has equipped itself with media libraries which help to promote the acquisition of knowledge.
The creation of the City of Trades and Skills Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima required a total financial envelope of 575 million dirhams, including a contribution from the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region of 100 million dirhams, while the Ministry of Commerce and Industry contributed to the creation of the digital factory located at the industrial hub.
