For an “unimaginable” reason.. Details of the strangest “khula” case in Egypt

The Family Court in the city of Nasr ordered an Egyptian woman to divorce her husband, in a hearing held on Thursday, after he assaulted her by beating her for a strange reason.

In details told to “24” by lawyer Noha Al-Jundi, her client married a veterinarian 4 years ago after a long love affair, which resulted in a three-year-old daughter.

Soon, disagreements began to arise between them from time to time, until she faced a difficult and unbearable situation, as she accidentally broke the original charger of her husband’s cell phone.

She added that due to this situation, a violent argument broke out between them, which turned into a beating by the husband, to the point that her head was injured and she bled profusely.

The wife went to the hospital and then to the family home, and refused to return. Faced with her husband’s stubbornness, she filed for divorce and the court eventually ruled in her favor.
