Governor of Ifrane province launches activities of Tamahdit sheep breed festival

Through this festival, the organizers seek to develop the livestock sector and improve production levels. Especially for the Mahdhit dynasty, characteristic of the Middle Atlas region.
The “Tahdhit” or “Barki” sheep breed is an ancient agricultural heritage and one of the best-known sheep breeds in Morocco.
The “Tamahdit” breed belongs to its original homeland, the “Menthe Baghelmous” region of the Middle Atlas, but also to the Tamahdit region of the province of Ifrane, and extends to all parts of the Middle Atlas from the Taza Mountains, through the Boulmane chain. region, to Khenifra and its surroundings. Because it adapts well to the cold climate thanks to its dense layer of wool, and is characterized by its ease of fattening and its high productivity, it is considered one of the breeds used in artificial crossbreeding, where the average weight of females of the “Tahmahdit breed reaches between 60 and 70 kg, and between 100 and 120 kg in stallions.
In the same context, the regional worker supervised the official launch of the rehabilitation of the Ascension Center and the inauguration of the weekly market in a large area with high specifications, which allowed the citizens, men and women, of this region to praise the efforts of the worker “Abdul Hamid Al-Mazyad”, which were reflected in their daily lives and in the qualitative victory with which he keeps pace with the projects in the region.
Civil activists from various groups in the Ifrane region present in Mahdhit said in statements to Heba Press that the current governor of the region has managed the affairs of the region well on the territorial and administrative levels without prejudice to the people’s rights and fundamental freedoms. to his approach to the policy of flexibility and positive interaction with the people’s grievances, the handling of which falls within the competence of the Al-Amel Foundation and its representatives at the leadership and police levels.
