Errachidia: Three individuals arrested for hacking bank payment cards

Elements of the regional judicial police service of the town of Errachidia arrested, on Monday evening, three individuals aged between 22 and 33 years old, including a convicted criminal, for their alleged involvement in the hacking of bank payment cards and their use of purchasing goods and services via the Internet.

The security services have coordinated with the Interbank Electronic Payment Center regarding fraudulent purchase transactions using payment cards issued by South Africa, indicates a security source, indicating that a judicial investigation has been opened and made it possible to arrest one of the suspects in Errachidia in the act of acquiring a mobile phone using a foreign card bearing the name of another.

The continuation of the investigations in this case allowed the arrest of two accomplices in these criminal acts and the seizure of digital media and computer equipment which would have been used in the hacking of bank payment card data, adds the same source.

The three accused were placed in police custody pending the judicial investigation ordered by the competent public prosecutor's office with a view to clarifying the ins and outs of this case and identifying its national and international ramifications.
